Ms. Yvonne Tagoe

I am bilingual life-long learner with an international background of Ghanaian parentage. I have spent most of my life in the UK with some time lived in France, Switzerland, Sierra Leone and Ghana with my parents as a child for a few years.  I joined the IB West Africa region about 9 years ago taking my school through the MYP authorization process as the MYP coordinator. I am a mathematics teacher by training (PGCE University of London, Institute of Education, UK) with 25 years teaching and leadership experience.  I still teach MYP and DP mathematics.

I am currently Vice Principal at Tema International School in Ghana. I am passionate about supporting learning diversity (including language) within my school and promoting the best practices of the IB vision. I am committed to working with my team at WAAIBWS to create a vibrant association for our sister schools in the West Africa sub-region. I also hold a certificate in advanced education leadership (CAEL, Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA).
